Workbench - Rei

Finally, its a painting time (the fun part of kit building).

Rei have so much white on her and I didn't want it to all blend in together. So I am using two different shades of white for her outfit. The Icy White is for her plug-in suit and Warm White is for her bandeges. This way there is a nice defanition between areas. Also I am going to make the suit glossy and the bandages flat (later on :D)

Just the colors without shading yet.

Remember the horrible hair???? I sure do :D
Anyway here is what it looks like fixed and painted.

Sorry, but no in progress pics of their eyes >.<
I got carried away with the progress

Workbench - Rei

Some more scary pictures of all the stuff that I had to fix on Rei :D

Some problems were easy to fix with some heat from hairdryer

And the others took some patience with sand paper and primer :D

See all the bumps?

And this is how she looked after hours of cleaning and fixing :D

Now its time for painting.

Workbench - Rei

My new commission kit :D

This is a kit of Rei from Evangelion. This sculpt comes with lots of diffent options for display. The have two different heads, two different sets of arms, and one extra hand (confusing, but ones you see it, you will undertand what I am talking about :P)

The quality of the cast was HORIBLE >.<
I guess the mold that the store used is worn out, so the surface of the kit is very bumpy. The fit of the parts is very had too. I had to use lots of putty to fix all the gaps on her. Plus I had to make sure that all the extra parts can be exchangeable.

First I present you with one of the Rei's heads. The top of the head consist of three different parts. I glued all the parts together first, because the is no way I am messing with this mess after I painted it :D

The other head did not have too much problem (compare to the other one :D)

The legs and her backpack didn't have to many problems, but it still needed some fixing.

And here comes the scary GAP :D
Most of the arm pieces needed some putty, but this one part takes the first place.
I tried to fit the piece lots of different ways, but any way you look at it, it needs lots of help. I don't know what happened to this part, maybe the mold shrink or something.
I aligned the piece to the top right corner of the sleeve and the rest I filled with putty.

Workbench - Nanoha

Just a really quick update on Nanoha.
I've been working on the base for her, so here is what I got :D

I am applying a decal picture of summoning circle on the while base. I know that its not the exact design that is used in anime for Nanoha, but since I can't find the original, I am using this one :D

I need to apply few more coats of Future on the base and its all done.
Just in case you need it, here is a .jpeg of the circle

Workbench - Nanoha

I know that I didn't update my progress for a while, but you have to forgive me for this. I got a cold. I feel much better now, its just I can't believe that after not being sick for 4-5 years, suddenly I get hit with so many nasty things all at ones >.<
I just hope that I am done for another couple of years.

Anyway, I've been working on Nanoha (and something else too :D). Her hair is all done. Sorry for bad photo, its all overexposed and doesn't show her colors too well. It will be much better when I take it in my "photo studio".

Also finished up all of the wings.
Wings are such a cute addition for any kit, but I descovered that most of the times they are a pain-in-you-know-what :D It always takes forever to clean them up.
Anyway, its all done and painted (my forest of wings :D)

Also her weapon is finished up too. I had to really look for directions on how to assamble it. There was no instructions included with a kit, so I had to hunt down the complete photos of her weapon. Hopefully I got it right >.<

The rest of the parts of the weapon. I can't attach them permanently, since it will be impossible to ship it like that.

Here is almost finished up Nanoha. Just few more adjustments and she is all ready

I am working on her base right now.
