Workbench - Revy's base

The last update on Revy before I post the finished pictures :D

At first I was planning to make a grassy base for this girl, but in my mind it just didn't fit her. So I decided to put her on the ship :D
Big thank you to pitanga for reference image and great idea

Some of my supplies for this project.

I cut out the shape for the ships wall (?) out of flower foam.
And the rest is pretty self explanatory (at least I think so :D )

And the finished result.

Workbench - Revy

So I had a little set back with Revy. I run out of my favorite sealer (Testors Dullcoat) and Michaels is out of it for at least a month now. I started to use acrylic flat sealers, but its not the same.
So anyway, apparently if I layer too many layers of paint with this sealer on the top and try to fast dry it with hair dryer, it creates a very "interesting" crack pattern >.<
Lets just say that I am not very happy about this.

Took me some time to fix the hair problem, but now its all done.
Also finished up her eyes. Sorry no in-progress pictures.

Workbench - Revy

Revy is coming along very nicely :D
Finally finished up her skin and tattoos.
The kit did not include a decals (as was promised :( ), so I had to draw it by hand.
The hardest parts about tattoos was not drawing them, but actually finding a good reference for them. I looked at lots of different resin kits and every single one of them had a slightly different design. I found this set of decals (it was for a different Revy kit) which worked great for me.
Just in case people have the same problems as I did finding the design, here is the decal sheet (sorry for the blur marks, I had to remove the stores logo off of it)

So first I penciled in my tattoo and after that used dark brown paint mixed with some Future floor finish (for smoother layers) to color it in. The Future gives the paint a little transparent effect, so the tattoo looks a little more real.
I didn't use the pure black for tattoos just because its never that dark in real life :D

After the tattoos very painted, I assembled the kit. Still need to paint her hair and eyes.

Workbench - Revy

Its been a very busy week for me. I've been working an evening shifts at work and couldn't work on any of my kits :(
But I still got some stuff done.

Guns.
I added some pearl handles to the guns (tried to stick with anime references :D). The only sad part is that most of the handles are hidden by Revy's hands. Oh well, at least I know its there :D

And shoes with laces :D
For laces I used jewelery cord painted black. Its very simple, but adds a lot to the scene.

Hopefully I will have more updates soon.

Workbench - Revy

Finally done with cleaning up and started with fun parts - painting :D

Short shirts first.
I used Folk Art Blue Ribbon for the base.

Some blue ink for lines.

Feathered everything with white paint for worn out look and added the green belt.

I love how it turned out. This is my first jeans, so I am very happy with result.

Workbench - Revy

I've been moving quickly on this girl.
Already everything is puttied up and primed.
Here is some of the steps :D

This is a very bad hair day :D The tip of her pony tail had a very nasty peg on it and lots of seam lines. Took me a while to clean all this up. The only good thing is that its a nice soft resin, so nothing got broken.

All of the join putty :D

The back on Revy's T-shirt had some very weird indents. Not really pin holes, but close :D

I had to open them up and fill with Glazing Putty.

Soon I will start on painting her :D
Can't wait.
