Frankie

I got this kit from this years Wonderfest.  Sculpted by Sam Greenwell.
For this little guy, I decided to try something new for me - heavy body acrylic paint (I was going to try using oil paint, but didn't want to wait for it to dry :D  )

First I airbrushed the whole kit with some Createx Blood line paint.  This is the first time I got to use this line and I love it.  Here is the link if you are interested  http://www.dickblick.com/products/createx-illustration-colors/

 Now the fun part :D
some layers after layers acrylic paint

And some better lighting pictures of finished bust

 Super fun project :D

Workbench - Joan of Ark

Another VOLKs charagumins kits :D
I am getting so spoiled by amazing part break down and ease of work on those kits.

As usual with VOLKs kits, it was a breeze to prep.  I did have a little snag with the colors of Joan's dress.  The reference booklet shows it somewhat purple and when I painted, I made it too purple ;D
pretty, but wrong :D

After conforming the real colors with this beautiful picture, this is what I got

Not all of the purple shade is showing on this picture, but I need a better lighting (or better light bulb).  Purple is notoriously hard to photograph >_<

Wonderfest 2016

Finally, this year I was able to attend Wonderfest.  I was planning to do it for the last three years, but stuff like "Life" happens >_<
Anyway, it had some amazing time meeting all the talented people (was recognized couple of time by my name tag :D ), attending some interesting classes and of course buying some kits :D

Here is my "little"stash of stuff I brought back

I am already planning my next years trip :D

Alicia Melchiott by Volks finished

I can't believe I didn't update my blog since the end of May.  So much stuff happened  >_<

For starters, I finished the lovely Alicia and she already at her new home.
