Also had some time to paint her eyes :D

Now that the masking is done, the project is getting closer to being finished :D

Workbench - Sailor Mars

A very quick project for a friend :D

This is an original Sailor Mars from Sailor Moon series.  She was already primed when I received her, so I had to give her a very long soak in degreaser to take everything off.

The fit of the kit was very very good :D
The only thing that gave me some work was to glue her hair pieces together

and one of her knees had lots of bubbles in it  >_<

I love the movement on this kit, but I don't think she have enough hair movement.
So I added couple of hair strands (its made from Mountain Dew can :D)

The prep work didn't take that long (only about two days which is very short time for me :D).
Started painting.

The eyes and her hair are done (Flash and no flash)

Next update on Mars is going to be the complete piece :D
Thanks for looking

Workbench - Asuka (huge scale)

 Another update on Asuka.

Painted the darker cloth parts with Dioxide purple (did not wanted to use black since its so hard to shade and this beautiful sculpt deserves to be shaded :D )

After Purple, shaded all with black.  It looks dark enough to look like its black, but still shows the nice folds.
I am going to keep this purple as a non glossy surface.  For me, the more different textures you can see on the kit - the more life-like it is :D

Of course all this purple have to be protected and masked  >_<
Lots and lots of small masking.

Painted her face (the only flesh colored part on the whole kit :D) and her eyes.

I painted the rest of the suit too, but forgot to take any in-progress pics.  Sorry
But I did take the pictures of her base.

The next update on Asuka will be the complete kit :D

Workbench - Lelouch from Code Geass

A fun, not too complicated project.
This is Lelouch from Code Geass in his school uniform.

Parts after the wash.

Dry fit.  The fit was so good that I didn't really needed to use any putty.   Shocking :D

The eyes are the mirror to the soul.  His turned out very nicely :D

All of the lines were hand painted.  Yeah for a steady hands  \(^o^)/

Workbench - Ymir

I had lots of work done on Ymir kit.
Her skirt was giving me the most of trouble, but now its all cleaned up and painted.

Also I did a "little" tutorial on her eyes.  I promised some people that I make this :D

Workbench - Nanako

The first time I came across this kit, I fell in love. I had to order her right away and started to work on her right away too.
This is Nanako Yamamoto ( http://www.e2046.com/product.php?products_id=12074 ) and I've been mentioning her in the last couple of posts.

When I painted her eyes, I actually had my camera handy, so I decided to take the progress pics on it.

1. Painted the white inside the eyes

2. Outlined the eye lashes

3. Painted the main color of the eyes (I used metallic color this time for extra sparkle)

4.Outlined the blue with black (the black outline doesn't have to come out perfect the first time, you can always adjust it with more of the blue)

5. Added the shadow part of the eye (black)

6. Added a lighter blue ring around the iris

7. Added even more lighter blue (a very very thin line) very close to the iris

8. Added the white dots (the proof of life sparkles :D )

9. The last step is to seal this all with Glossy Finish (some people use Future) to even out the surface from all the bumps and give it an extra sparkle.

And also I just finished Nanako's base. I am very proud of how it turned out :D
Cool, right?
