Workbench - Storm Riders

I've been working on Storm Rider guys.
Glued the parts together and primed them. There is not that much clean up on plastic kits, so painting starts very soon :D

The hair of one guy and the head of the other are made from a rubber like material. Its all squishy :D

The cape is the only piece that gave me any problems. I had to glue the very thin main part to the plastic/clear collar part.

Another commission project (two projects actually :D )
This guys are from Storm Riders anime. Both of them are plastic kits, about 1/8 scale. The cool thing is that they are cast in clear plastic.

Workbench - Sailor V

Small update on Sailor V.
Got all of her joints fixed and puttied.


Added some hair strands to her hair.

Prep work is done. Next step is painting \(^o^)/

Workbench - Roberta

Finished up Roberta's suitcase. This time I hand painted the belt straps :D I didn't wanted to repaint this the third time.

Roberta is all done, I just need to finish up taking photos of her.

Sailor Moon finished

This is one of my most favorite kits of Sailor Moon... and is the reason why this blog exist.
She was my first kit that I ever purchased. Its a Thai kit (very fragile and have lots of flaws) and she brings lots of memories. The first time I painted her, it was behind a kitchen table without any sanding or puttying. I use just solid colors, right out of the bottle, and let not mention the paint strokes :D
I am very happy to see her finished up again, its a great reminder for me on how far I came in those 5-6 years.

Workbench - Nanako's base

I was so excited about my Nanako's kit that I just needed something special for her to put on.
Since she is wearing a bikini and a towel, she needed a beach (or at least a small chunk of it).

I actually took most of the progress pictures, so I hope this helps to explain how I did it.

Picked a wooden base.

Cut out the shape for the raised area of the beach.

Next step is missing some pictures, but I used some paper glue and glued the sand on the base (all around the base too).

After that I airbrushed blue color to the deep part of the pool (the lowest part). Sprayed it in gradient layers, darker-to-lighter, imitating the depth of the ocean.

After the sand all dried up, I wrapped the whole base in plasti-card and sealed the bottom of it (so the water doesn't leak). Next I new water stuff that I found in a rail road store.

This is an E-Z Water. It needs to be heated up (in the metal can over fire) and pored in. It hardens very very fast, so you have to be quick.

I love this stuff. Its very easy to use and I don't have to wait forever for it to dry. And the best part is that I can modify it with a heat gun later on.

This is what I got after I took the plasti-card off (in about 5 min :D )

Next I used Liquitex Gloss Gel to create some foam on the waves.

This stuff goes on white, but dries clear.

After the Gel cleared up, I dry-brushed white over the ends of the waves to give it a little more definition.

Ta-da :D

Its done.

Workbench - Sailor V

I started on another commission project.
This is a Sailor Venus kit. Very nice and dynamic pose. This brings lots of good memories for me :D

The only disappointing thing is that her skirt and her upper body are cast as one piece. Masking is going to be lots of fun :D

The cast is pretty good, only couple of gaps that I need to fill.

A quick dry fit.
