Another watercolor portrait

I had to do another sport portrait commission. Its a Justin Morneau portrait. The piece is usual 16 x 20 inches size. The background was airbrushed and for the rest of it I used watercolors with some watercolor pencils.
I had the hardest time doing the chrome on the trophy. I am fully satisfied with result, but I had to rush this piece. At least I am very happy with his face.
The photo got a little bit distorted, so I had to crop it a little bit. I hope it doesn't distract too much.

Close up of the face

Caster is finished

Finaly finished up my Caster. She was quite a challenge to make. Lots and lots of connection parts to glue together (and clean/prime), and some modifications.

For this kit I used Model Master laquer flat paint, so the cape looks like its made from soft cloth. It feels very nice to touch too.
Not all the parts are glued on. I had to leave her head and her hand unglued, because they have to be removed to put on or off the cape. The dagger have a small magnet in it, so it attaches itself to the hand. Same for her bra (single cup LOL).

Quick update

Finally got some time to update some of my projects.

The Caster is almost done, only few parts to attach and she is all ready to go. Bye bye Caster .

Misato is moving along too. I finished painting her beautiful legs and her shoes. In the reference picture, her shoes are black, but I decided to go with soft brown. I think it looks very good. By the way, I am still wishing for a legs like she have.

My new project is another Dark Elf. She will be a little modified from original version.
She will have removable bra and bikini bottoms. For now I am working on sanding off her armor and making her look "correct" naked.

I have my table full of work and not enough time to finish them all.

Caster in progress

One of my other projects on the table is Caster from Fate/Stay Night. She is almost done.

Her cloak is very complicated. It came in in four parts that took lots of pins to connect. All of the black lines on the photos are pins.

This is a commission kit, and my client decided to go with a blue theme on Caster. I am done with painting her cloak. For her cloak, I used Model Master lacquer paint. All of the colors are flat, so the cloak looks and feels like velvet. I would love to have one for real too :D

Her dress thingy was all in separate parts too. This kit have way too many pins inside, maybe if I wait a little bit more it will be worth something because of all the copper inside :D

I had a chance to paint her skin color (together with Misato's legs). Now I have to wait a little bit before I can mask all that skin and paint the rest of her dress. This gives me a chance on updating my blog.

Misato part 3

I usually follow specific order in making my kits. First I clean, sand, prime all the parts and only after final fit test, I start painting. This kit is different. I have too many other projects going on, so poor Misato is just sitting in the corner (or parts of her), so when I get a free minute, I work on her. I am not fully done with cleaning and sanding all of her parts yet (her hair is total mess), but I already started to paint her.

Her dress is all done and now I got a chance to work on some of her skin (her hands are not put together yet). Her face is done and I painted her big, beautiful legs.
Maybe I will finish her up before Christmas.

My back yard.

The school started, the weather got colder, and the days are getting shorter. It all means that the fall is upon us. Another sign that its almost Autumn is that the turkeys are here too

Just wanted to share some of my "wild life" experience.

This is my back yard and this is one of my "predators". He didn't hurt any of them, but I think we all had fun watching.

Misato, part 2

My small update on Misato.
It took me a lot of patience and time to clean up Misato's dress. It was all covered in small tiny pin holes Tough and not very inspiring work. But the good thing is that I am all done with the dress Well, now I have to go and fix her jacket too.

Rider

This is my latest commission. She is 1/6 scale of Rider from Fate/Stay Night anime. I had to do some modifications with her dress. I did a WIP on a modeling site (http://forum.e2046.com/viewtopic.php?t=27074) It is pretty self-explanatory.

My two ninja girls

This is my two latest commission kits. They are marked as 1/7 scale, but actually very large. I really love the movement and energy of this kits. It was a lot of fun painting them.

I have more pictures awailable on my photobucket page http://s254.photobucket.com/albums/hh107/zasranka1/ninja%20girls/

Misato from Evangelion

I got this kit for a friend. It is a 1/5 kit of Misato from Evangelion. My friend jsut loves this character. The kit is HUGE. This is a Thai recast, but its a really good recast. The fit is very good and most of the folds on the dress are still there.
I already did some work on her. Her legs are so huge, I had to fugure out some other way of holding it. My usual method of using a shishka bobs sticks did not work, the leg was too heavy.
On the side note. I wish I had a legs like that

Ok, I have a few months to complete this beauty, so I better start moving.

My poor Persona 3 game, all along and waiting....
